Brussels (The Brussels Morning newspaper): A police inspector spotted two suspicious young men at a gas station. After calling for backup they were arrested with a knife. The adult faced serious charges while the minor had a separate legal process.

The police inspector saw two young men at a gas station who seemed suspicious. They were wearing gloves and trying to hide their faces with scarves and masks. Their nervous behavior and attempts to conceal their identities made the inspector worried. He felt uneasy about what they might be up to and decided to watch them closely to see if he needed to look into it more or take action.

How the law treats suspicious minors vs. adults caught with weapons?

When the inspector saw the two guys acting suspicious he quickly told the Robbery section of the local police. He thought their behavior could be risky and asked for help right away. A patrol was sent to the gas station to check things out. When the police got there they caught the two guys. They searched them and found a kitchen knife which made the situation even more worrying. The suspects were taken to the station for questioning to understand what they were up to with the knives.

The two guys one grown-up and one younger were already in trouble with the law before. After questioning them they were sent to the public prosecutor for legal action. The adult guy went in front of a judge who decided to arrest him. He was charged with trying to rob using force doing it with others having a weapon he shouldn’t,and being part of a criminal group. The younger guy didn’t go through the same legal steps as the older one. He was under the care of a special judge for kids who would deal with his case following rules for young offenders. Law treats adults and minors differently.
