Now they can change the fake grass and make the area around it better so players and fans have a nicer time. The mayor is happy because they’re building a new stadium at the soccer fields for about 1,000 people. It will have better seats facilities and be easier to get around. The permit for fixing the soccer fields is now approved after some changes were made to the application. The town agency checked and said it’s okay. They had to make changes to follow all the rules. Now they can start making the field better, changing the fake grass, fixing things around it and building a new stadium. The sports place will have two buildings one for soccer with covered seats and another for different sports. The second building will have room for activities after school and working together. They will also make new outdoor fields like two soccer fields, two fields for different sports and a tennis court. They will change the area around it a lot with playgrounds places to sit outside, parking spots, new lights and a place to collect rainwater.

What challenges delayed the construction of the new Stadium for FC Saint-Josse?

The idea for the stadium isn’t new. They talked about it before the 2018 elections which some people didn’t like. The project took a long time to start because the town needed to manage their money better and couldn’t find enough money for the stadium.

The work will start in 2025 and might take about three years. They’re not sure yet where FC Saint-Josse can go while they fix the place. The Saint-Josse stadium is actually in Evere close to Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe. The town got the land in 1920. There are two soccer fields, a rugby field, five indoor tennis courts, places for petanque, a field for different sports with table tennis and a hall for many uses.
