Trump names Kimberly Guilfoyle as US ambassador to Greece

Brussels Morning Newspaper – US incoming President Donald Trump has revealed Kimberly Guilfoyle, an American television news personality and longtime partner, as his candidate for US ambassador to Greece.

In a post announcing on Truth Social, Donald Trump hailed Guilfoyle’s background in media, law, and politics, noting her as “supremely qualified to represent the United States and protect its interests abroad.” Trump highlighted her usefulness for boosting bilateral ties with Greece in domains such as defence collaboration, economic innovation, and trade.

Kimberly Guilfoyle voiced her appreciation for the assignment in a post on X, stating she was honoured to work and keen to promote US interests in cooperation with Greece. “As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, keeping our Greek allies, and ushering in a new age of peace and prosperity,” Guilfoyle noted on X.

Donald Trump’s son Donald John Trump Jr. also expressed his backing, accentuating Guilfoyle’s dedication to public service. “She values America, and she always wanted to help the country as an ambassador. She will be an excellent leader for America First,” he stated. 

What experience does Guilfoyle bring to the ambassadorship?

In the 2024 Trump election campaign, Guilfoyle performed on the platform committee of the 2024 Republican National Convention. She gave an address at the convention. Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle is an ex-prosecutor in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She performed as an adviser and headed the fundraising section of Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential drive. After leaving Fox News in 2018, she afterwards became the Trump campaign’s finance director during the 2020 presidential vote. Guilfoyle has also been a major personality in Trump’s political circle. Guilfoyle graduated from the University of California, Davis, and the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she gained a J.D. degree.
