Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Brussels will provide families with 50 euros per dog, up to 150 euros for three dogs, to promote responsible pet ownership. Owners must complete training sessions for their dogs to qualify.
Zoubida Jellab, the Alderman for Animal Welfare in Brussels, has shared that the city will give 50 euros for each dog to help families. This program aims to encourage responsible pet ownership and assist residents who have pets. A family can get this money for up to 3 dogs, so they can receive a maximum of 150 euros in total. The money given to families is meant to help pay for costs that come with having a dog, like vet bills, vaccinations, and other care. This program also wants to promote good care and well-being for pets in the city. To apply for the money, families will probably need to show that they live in the city, own the dogs, and follow local rules about taking care of pets.
How can Brussels families benefit from the new dog training grant?
It has been said that each dog must complete at least three training sessions, which can include obedience or socialization training to help improve their behavior and well-being. This requirement helps pet owners train their dogs properly, making the community safer and promoting well-behaved pets.
The dog owner must live in one of these areas, Brussels City (1000), Laken (1020), Neder-Over-Heembeek (1120), or Haren (1130). This rule makes sure that the money helps residents who are working to keep these neighborhoods pet-friendly. By connecting the money to both training for dogs and where the owner lives, the city wants to encourage responsible pet care and support the community’s efforts to help animals.
“Teaching our dogs the right way helps keep everyone safe and makes our pets happier,” Jellab says about the program. To get the money, the training should cover basic skills, socializing, or fixing bad behaviors. Advanced training is okay too, but training for sports or hunting won’t count for the money.
