Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper: On November 5, a minor injured her hand in Brussels from a firework bomb explosion thrown into an apartment. Walter Derieuw confirmed the incident, with three suspects arrested.

The Brussels public prosecutor’s office has confirmed that an incident took place on Tuesday, November 5, where a minor injured her hand. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, not many details have been shared. A spokesperson said, “We can only confirm that an incident occurred in which a minor was injured in her hand.”

What caused the explosion in Brussels?

In an interview with BRUZZ, Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the Brussels fire department, provided more details about the incident. He said they were called to Van Arteveldestraat after reports of a small explosion. Initially, it was thought to be a gas explosion, but when they arrived, they found it was a heavy firework bomb that had exploded. This supports the prosecutor’s statement that the explosion injured a minor.

According to Derieuw, the firework bomb was thrown into the apartment. The minor victim picked it up to throw it back outside, but it exploded in her hand, causing serious injuries. Three suspects have been arrested, but it is still not clear why they threw the fireworks bomb into the apartment. The investigation is going on.
