Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – This Sunday, Nov 2, 2025, Brussels hosts the Brussels Airport Marathon, Half Marathon, and 7K race with 20,000 runners from 125 countries; Golazo advises early number pickup.

As VRT News reported, this Sunday, Nov 2, 2025, Brussels will host the Brussels Airport Marathon and the Brussels Airport Half Marathon. Around 20,000 runners are expected to take part. Organisers say this number is higher than last year, which saw 18,500 participants.

Runners can choose from 3 distances. The half-marathon is the most popular and will include more than half of all participants. The full marathon will see 3,600 starters, a 20% increase compared with the previous edition.

What to know about 20,000 runners at Brussels Airport Marathon this Sunday?

Nearly half of the runners come from outside Belgium. Competitors represent 125 countries, including many from the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Norway. There are also 70 Japanese runners and about 100 each from the United States and Brazil.

This Sunday, Nov 2, 2025, Brussels will host the Brussels Airport Marathon, the half-marathon, and the 7-kilometre race. The marathon and half-marathon will start from Place De Brouckère in the city centre.

The 7-kilometre race will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Rue de la Loi. The full marathon route stretches across more than ten Brussels municipalities. Runners will pass many famous landmarks, including Cinquantenaire Park, Josaphat Park, and Laken Park.

All 3 races will finish at Palace Square, in front of the Royal Palace, where spectators will welcome the runners. Organisers Golazo advise runners to collect their race numbers on Friday, Oct 31, 2025, or Saturday, Nov 1, 2025, to avoid delays. Registration is still open.

The Brussels Airport Marathon was first held in 2005 and has grown into one of the largest running events in Belgium. It takes place every year in late October, attracting runners from across the country and around the world. The marathon and half-marathon are known for their scenic routes, passing through historic landmarks, parks, and multiple Brussels municipalities.
