Belgium culture and society impacted by festival incident

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A descending limb injured a total of seven individuals in Bruges this weekend at the Benenwerk celebration one of which was critical. In light of this incident authorities are currently examining it and emphasizing that precautionary steps should be undertaken during cultural events.

On Saturday night as part of Brugge Feesten at Benenwerk a tree branch fell off and hit several people thereby injuring seven one of whom was critically hurt. The rescuers came in time to evaluate all survivors situations before giving them initial emergency treatment on the spot.

What caused the branch to fall at the Bruges festival?

According to resources five others all injured during the festival were taken to the hospital on account of more treatment.  The police have reported that all five are fine now.  They are looking into why and how this incident happened to try and avoid it happening again. Saturday saw a occurrence of a branch fall disrupt the Benenwerk festival in Bruges injuring some people present at the event. A branch falling from a tree onto this busy dancing spot injured seven people.

Five of the injured in the festival were rushed to the hospital for further treatment. Law enforcement says they are okay now.  They want to know what caused the branch to fall down and other measures needed to put in place in order to avoid such an occurrence in the future. A dropped branch onto a dance floor at Benenwerk festival held in Bruges last Saturday caused commotion and inflicted injuries to several attendees. The branch broke from a tree and fell on top of the active dancing area injuring seven individuals at once. By a falling branch, one young individual suffered the most serious neck injuries. They required immediate, life-threatening hospitalization. Currently, five patients admitted to hospital are okay. County officials are investigating the reasons for its fall and measures to ensure people’s safety during such circumstances in future occasions.
