Antwerp (The Brussels morning newspaper): Bus services in Antwerp are severely disrupted due to a spontaneous strike by drivers following an assault on a colleague, affecting many commuters on multiple lines.

The bus drivers’ unexpected actions have caused major disruptions on important public transport routes. On Line 32, which goes from Edegem to Rooseveltplaats, passengers are facing delays and cancellations, affecting their daily travel. Line 51, which connects Berchem Station to Hove and Vremde, is also experiencing interruptions that impact people using this line. Line 140, running from Hoboken Polderstad to the University Hospital of Antwerp (UZA) and on to Mortsel and Wijnegem, is causing delays and reduced service for passengers traveling between these places.

What caused the disruptions to Antwerp’s bus Lines 445, 447, and 610?

The disruptions are also affecting Line 445, which runs between Brasschaat, Gooreind, and Kalmthout, and Line 447, connecting Essen Hoek, Horendonk, and Wuustwezel. Both of these lines are seeing less service. Line 610, which connects Antwerp to Oelegem, is also facing interruptions. The bus drivers’ unexpected actions have caused travel problems on these lines, making it hard for many commuters who rely on these buses for their daily trips.

It has been said that for a complete update on the bus service disruptions caused by the drivers’ unexpected actions, passengers should check the De Lijn website or use the De Lijn app. These platforms offer real-time information on which routes are affected and help users find other travel options. The transport company has recommended that passengers look for alternative routes to deal with the changes in service. The exact length of the disruption is still unknown. De Lijn hasn’t given a clear timeline for when normal service will start again, so passengers should keep checking the website or app for the latest updates. This way, travelers can make informed choices about their trips and plan accordingly during this time of disruption.
