Halle (The Brussels Morning newspaper): William Severs a funfair owner in Halle is redesigning his merry-go-round car with a police theme inspired by local police car patterns. He added his grand daughter Monroe’s name to honor family traditions enhancing the ride’s appeal to children.

William Severs the owner said he sometimes changes the cart’s design by painting new themes on it with an airbrush. He picks characters carefully like Spiderman because kids really like them. Severs is thinking about a new police theme for the cart. He remembers wanting to be a policeman or a cowboy when he was young. He thinks kids really like police cars and attractions with police vehicles usually draw big crowds of children. So, he believes a police-themed design could be a hit with the young visitors.

How is William severs honoring tradition with a police-themed merry-go-round?

William from Halle and part of a funfair family wanted to make the merry-go-round car special. He liked the colorful block pattern on the police cars in the Zennevallei area which includes Halle. These patterns help police cars be easily seen on the road. William decided to use a similar eye-catching design on the merry-go-round car. This not only shows respect to the local police but also adds a familiar and unique touch to their family business. By using the block patterns from the police cars William showed respect to the police and honored his family’s funfair tradition. Mixing the police car style into the merry-go-round car adds a fun and eye-catching touch. It has been said that this choice shows how much William loves Halle and how he wants to connect his family’s funfair history with the local community in a playful way.

Along with the police-inspired design William added a special touch to the merry-go-round car for his granddaughter. He put her name “Monroe,” on the license plate. This is really important to William because it honors his family and keeps up a sweet tradition. His own grandpa did something similar by using his grandkids’ names like William’s and his sister’s on his carousel to keep the family bond strong in their funfair rides. It has been said that naming the car after Monroe is a sweet way for William to show love to his granddaughter and carry on the family tradition from his grandpa. Monroe has already enjoyed riding in the car becoming part of the family’s funfair story. By putting her name on the car William keeps the bond strong between past and present generations making the merry-go-round even more special.
