Last year, vzw Hotels Knokke-Heist, which represents hotels in Knokke-Heist, launched a program to make guest safety better. They gave Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to all their hotels and trained staff on how to use them. Robin Schluter, the secretary of the group, said this shows their commitment to being ready for emergencies that can save lives. He pointed out that having these devices and the right training is important for handling serious situations. This effort highlights how much they care about the health and safety of both guests and staff.

It has been said that this program is really important because AEDs can save lives. These devices give a shock to the heart when someone has a cardiac arrest, helping it beat normally again. Research shows that using an AED properly can raise a person’s chance of survival by up to 93 percent. By putting AEDs in hotels and training staff to use them, vzw Hotels Knokke-Heist is helping hotel workers respond quickly in emergencies. 

Hotel staff are happy about the new AED program, which helps them feel safer. Bieke Van Parys from Hotel Van Bunnen said it’s important to be ready for emergencies, sharing, “It’s nice to know we are better prepared now. This is good for our guests.” With AEDs in hotels in Knokke-Heist, the area is taking a big step to keep everyone safe.
