Kyiv (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A Russian missile hit a hotel in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. The strike killed four people and wounded 31, Ukrainian officials said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed that a group of humanitarian organisation volunteers from Ukraine, the UK and the U.S.  had arrived at the hotel just before the strike but endured after taking cover quickly,

“Unfortunately, four people were killed in the attack,”

He noted on Telegram.

“We must not pause in putting pressure on Russia to stop this war and terror against life.”

Serhiy Lysak, governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, said fourteen of the 31 wounded in the strike were in a serious situation.

Ukraine’s Emergency Services said 19 people had been taken to safety from the hotel. They published pictures of crews making their way through the trash outside the floodlit five-storey building and climbing up and down ladders.

Aside from the hotel, 14 apartment facilities, a post office and 12 shops were also impaired, the governor said.

How has the attack affected local infrastructure?

The Ukrainian military also stated Russian forces launched two ballistic missiles and 112 drones at Ukraine overnight. Drones also hit energy infrastructure in the southern region of Odesa, wounding two people, the governor stated.

Heating and water supply have been reestablished in Odesa after the strike by the Russian Federation. Communal services have been restored, according to the mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

According to the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office, which revealed the consequences of the attack by the Russian Federation, private and multi-story buildings, a car service facility, and at least 15 vehicles were damaged.

“Due to the enemy’s attack, more than ten thousand local residents were left without electricity,”

The prosecutor’s office said.

In the northeastern city of Sumy, a drone attack slew one person and harmed a private enterprise’s storage facility, according to the local prosecutors.
