What is the context of burglary incidents in Oosterzele?

Even in the heart of Belgium, the burglar problem is still real, and residents of Oosterzele have recently come to grips with an increase in property crimes. The trend has been actively worked against by law enforcement agencies who’ve increased patrols, added community outreach programs and enhanced investigative techniques. The series of recent incidents bring to light a larger safety and security problem in residential neighbourhoods.

Local governments have started several measures to raise home security awareness among the people as the rate of burglaries has increased.
