Man stabbed at Hasselt’s café Anoniem, suspect arrested

Hasselt (Brussels Morning Newspaper) -A stabbing attack in Café Anoniem Hasselt Thursday night injured one male victim. The LRH police zone arrested a suspect who faces a courtroom appearance before an investigating judge today.

Café Anoniem in Hasselt witnessed an attack that left a male victim injured on Thursday evening. The LRH police zone took a 51-year-old individual for questioning who will appear before the investigating judge today. Medical personnel treated the victim in a hospital for injuries that did not threaten the victim’s life while officials conducted investigations about the fight’s background.

A stabbing took place at 6 pm at Café Anoniem, located at Mouterijstraat in Hasselt. The café gives meals to the homeless and offers day care services and support for them.

“A knife was used during the fight and a man was stabbed,”

Says Anja De Schutter of the Limburg Public Prosecutor’s Office.

“The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries, but his life is not in danger. The police were able to arrest a suspect, a 51-year-old man.”
