Lokeren (Brussels Morning) – The Lokeren Festivities scheduled from August 2 to 11 will not feature a traditional children’s afternoon due to difficulty in finding suitable artists.

The Lokeren Festivities which are scheduled to take place from August 2 to 11 this year will not feature the traditional children’s afternoon. This decision was made by the organizers due to the difficulty in finding enough suitable artists to perform during that period.

What is the alternative program planned for the Lokeren Festivities this year?

The organizers are actively developing an alternative program to ensure there are engaging activities for all attendees. The aim is to maintain the festive atmosphere and offer enjoyable experiences even without the usual children’s afternoon event.

The Lokeren festivals used to host fun afternoons for kids with artists they like. Camille performed last year and K3 was there the year before. This year the spokesperson Steven Latré says the children’s afternoon will have a new purpose.

The organizers said they couldn’t find enough diverse and high-quality artists for the event. They don’t want to repeat the same acts every year and not all artists were available on the day they needed. This is why they’re not having a children’s afternoon this year but are planning a different program instead.

The Lokeren festivals are currently developing an alternative program for the children’s afternoon. They are crafting a replacement that will cater to a slightly different audience but will be just as good. The specific date for the children’s afternoon is still under consideration. The organizers plan to share the details of the new program through their social media channels.
