Kyiv (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Foreign Minister of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, condemned on Wednesday Russian strikes on civilians in Ukraine and urged a “durable and lasting peace that ensures security for Ukraine.”

Sa’ar met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha at the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry in Kyiv early on Wednesday.

“We condemn Russia’s attacks on civilians. We call for a stable and sustainable peace that will ensure Ukraine’s security,”

He said.

What did Gideon Sa’ar say during his Kyiv visit?

As reported by Jerusalem Post, speaking of the visit to Ukraine during the current fighting with Russia, Sa’ar said,

“Ukraine has been at war with Russia for over three years. It is a brutal conflict that has claimed many lives. I know that the past few weeks have been especially painful. Ukraine has faced heavy attacks, with many civilians killed and injured.

That is why it was important for me to come to Kyiv now. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have been injured. We understand what it is like to be under attack – with our families, with our children.”

“Israel and Ukraine share a special bond. Both our nations face difficult and challenging times. We both face war and pain. We are both resilient nations,”

He stated at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha amid his visit to Kiev.

How does Russia view Israeli actions in Syria?

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli airstrikes on Syria as violations of Syria’s sovereignty and violations of international law. The ministry characterized the Israeli strikes as both a gross violation and a blatant violation of Syria’s territorial integrity. The ministry also expressed alarm at the recent escalation of violence. The Ministry stated that Israel’s military component treatments in Syria were an arbitrary use of force, which contradicts both international standards and is consequential to regional stability.

Additionally, Russia has severely condemned the military actions of Israel in Palestine, in particular its airstrikes and attacks against Gaza, remarking that both factors lead to greater loss of civilian life and destruction of social infrastructure.

The Russian Foreign Ministry specifically denounced Israel regarding the re-launch of military actions in Gaza and stated that these military actions will result in significant loss of civilian life, the destruction of key infrastructure, and the further humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
