As Iran’s nationwide uprising enters its 14th day on January 10, 2026—spanning at least 190 cities with persistent chants of “Death to the Dictator”—analysts note young insurgents’ tactical successes in Tehran (30+ clash sites), Izeh’s Red Crescent Square, and Mashhad, where they dismantle surveillance, torch IRGC assets, and repel retreats amid 54 confirmed martyrs and 41 Kermanshah gunshot hospitalizations. Maryam Rajavi frames these “pre-organized” actions as precursors to broader liberation, calling for coordinated centers, while prosecutors escalate with “mohareb” indictments signaling no quarter; for the analyst-sourced raw data from Iran Update #11 on ground clashes, resistance strategy, and regime countermeasures, consult the dispatch below.
Fallen for Freedom
Human Toll
- The number of individuals killed for freedom, whose identities have been confirmed so far, has reached 54 martyrs.
- On Saturday, January 10, the fourteenth day of the nationwide uprising, popular mobilization and actions by young insurgents continued across the country.
- By Saturday afternoon, the uprising had spread to at least 190 cities.
Developments on the Ground
- In addition to morning and midday gatherings, as night fell, demonstrations erupted in many neighborhoods of Tehran and in several other cities, including Isfahan and Shiraz, with protesters chanting “Death to the Dictator.” In some areas, security forces attacked demonstrators using tear gas.
- In Tehran, young insurgents confronted repressive forces in at least 30 different locations across the city, pushing back attacks against civilians and engaging in direct clashes with regime mercenaries.
In the Nezamabad neighborhood, the confrontations were particularly intense, and several government centers were also targeted. - In Dareh-Drij (Kermanshah) and Gilan-e Gharb (Kermanshah Province), clashes between young insurgents and forces of the IRGC and special units, which had begun on the night of Friday, January 9, continued until the morning of Saturday.
- In Izeh, intense armed clashes were reported. The sound of gunfire echoed throughout the city, particularly around the Red Crescent Square, the main focal point of the fighting, where courageous young protesters stood their ground against regime forces with determination.
- In Khorasan Razavi Province, on Friday night, in some areas of Mashhad, young insurgents attacked police stations and destroyed surveillance cameras and other equipment belonging to the repressive forces.

- In Kermanshah, 41 citizens wounded by gunfire are currently hospitalized in one of the city’s hospitals.
- In Gilan-e Gharb, several government buildings and an IRGC vehicle were set on fire. The provincial authorities were unable to deploy reinforcements.
- In the holy city of Mashhad, large crowds took to the streets and clashed with regime forces. In several areas, security forces were forced to retreat.
Reaction of the Iranian Resistance
- Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian Resistance, stated that over the past two weeks, young insurgents, by defending protesters at the cost of their own lives, prevented the regime from extinguishing the flames of the uprising.
- She emphasized that, thanks to pre-organized structures, insurgents repeatedly liberated certain areas and cities, describing these actions as a courageous rehearsal for the final liberation of Iran.
- Mrs. Rajavi called for
“the linkage and connection of the various centers of the uprising in Tehran and other cities.” - Responding to recent remarks by Ali Khamenei, who said he would not back down in the face of “rioters,” she stated:
“This is nothing new. This dictatorship has not backed down from executions, torture, and massacres for the past 47 years.”
Reaction of the Iranian Regime
- The regime’s Prosecutor General announced that prosecutors must act swiftly and decisively, filing indictments and preparing harsh sentences against protesters, without leniency or clemency.
- He labeled all those arrested as “mohareb” (enemies of God) and rejected any suggestion that they had been misled.
