The former attorney general of California, a former US senator, a current vice president and the last-minute pick of the Democratic Party for the presidential elections after Joe Biden dropped out, Kamala Harris, is becoming a real threat for the Republican Party and Donald Trump himself.

Former Vice President is much younger of Joe Biden, what makes her quite popular among young voters in the age group 18-29, although, the middle-aged voters and people after 45 still vote for Donald Trump. Kamala Harris’s team is running a successful social media campaign making her highly popular among young generation.

Simultaneously, more women are voting for Harris as a female representative as Trump is accused with a case of sexual abuse, what changes his posture in the eyes of some American women, who will also have a great influence in these elections. An additional challenge for Donald Trump in this case is that Republicans are staying for the limitation of abortion rights for women, what is received negatively by the majority of female voters.

Harris is an Indian Jamaican, what is playing on hand for the liberal Democratic Party as she is an actual representation of the cultural diversity. Black, Asian and Latino people are voting for her while Trump’s team has always been struggling to expand his popularity beyond white community.

Step by step Kamala Harris is increasing the polls in her favor taking several Midwest states that are essential for the Republican Party. If she wins, she will be the first woman president in the history of the United States.

Nevertheless, there are some factors that could question her possibility to beat Donald Trump.

The first one is her inconfidence in the public debates. For instance, during a debate where Joe Biden’s performance was notably weak, she had to step in and explain the complication of the situation not actually defending the former president. Donald Trump at that point is always behaving to be certain in everything he says whether it is true or not.

The second is the fact that she is a mixed-race woman. The Republican Party has been using Kamala Harris’s heritage against her a number of times. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now, she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”-said Donald Trump on the National Association of Black Journalists convention recently. In the history of the United States there wasn’t too many examples of “nonwhite” presidents in the office, not even mentioning women presidents.

The third fact is her policy record. During her time as an attorney, she had a “steady hand” on the issues of drug convictions, criminalizing the parents of kids who skip school, what some experts described as being radically left even for the Democratic Party. At the same time she is an obvious continuator of Biden’s politics what could play a “bad card” for her as American citizens are quite unsatisfied with the state of economy, huge number of illegal migrants and constant financial support of 2 major conflicts during Biden’s term in office, where she was a Vice President and was his right hand. Donald Trump will use these issues against her as his supporters are believing that he will manage the skyrocketing inflation, the migrations flow to the US and will put an end to the American participation in Israeli-Palestinian and Russian-Ukrainian conflicts by putting a focus on internal US policy.

Trump could also use Harris’s inability to manage Biden’s migration policy. During that time, she was in charge of it and the United States had experienced one of the highest numbers of illegal migrants entering the country. Texas has almost started a war with the Federal government to build more “fortifications” against the migrants as the White House was unable to sufficiently deal with the issue.

Her attitude to the Israel-Palestine conflict is also a controversial topic as she was putting a light on a great humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza during Biden’s Administration, what can result in Israeli voters turning their backs from her. At the same time, a huge number of Israeli representatives are taking places at the Senate, what potentially can lead to a loss in a great number of votes for the Democratic Party as Harris is their nominee. Simultaneously, Kamala Harris didn’t do much during her time as a Vice President of Joe Biden with the Gaza issue and some voters are considering her to be just a continuator of pro-genocide Biden’s policy.

Summarizing, Kamala Harris is a new face that is gaining popularity on the pre-presidential political arena of the United States that has great chances to change the course of the history just in a few months. She is younger than her main rival and experienced, however the question remains: are the United States ready for a female president?…
