Brussels street fight: Homeless man stabbed to death, investigation launched

Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper): On 20th October around midnight on Schildknaapstraat in Brussels, a fight between two homeless men increased, resulting in one man stabbing the other. The victim died at the scene despite attempts to help. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation to find the suspect.

On 20th October around midnight on Schildknaapstraat, a busy street in Brussels, two homeless men got into a fight. The reasons for their argument are unclear, but it quickly turned violent when one man stabbed the other several times. People nearby tried to help the victim while waiting for emergency services. A doctor from the Mobile Emergency Group also came to help, but the man died from his injuries at the scene.

What led to the fatal stabbing of a homeless man in Brussels?

According to Martin François from the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, the investigation is just beginning, and they don’t know yet what caused the argument between the two men. Authorities are working to find out more about the incident. 

The public prosecutor’s office quickly started an investigation into the incident and ordered a review of the area’s camera footage. The federal police’s technical investigation team also came to look for clues at the scene. The prosecutor’s office stated that the homicide unit of the federal police will lead the investigation. They are trying to understand what happened and to find the suspect.
