Brussels police capture shooter after Anderlecht drug-related incident

Anderlecht (Brussels Morning Newspaper): In Anderlecht, a drug-related fight on 2oth October at 2:30 a.m. resulted in one person being shot in the leg. The shooter returned at 7 a.m., leading to a police operation that captured him by 9 a.m.

On 20th October in Anderlecht, a fight broke out at a home around 2:30 a.m. between two people known to the police for drug-related activities. One of them was shot in the leg multiple times but only suffered minor injuries. The local police responded and confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening. The shooter fled the scene after the incident.

What led to the suspect’s return in the Anderlecht shooting incident?

The situation worsened when the suspect returned to the victim’s house around 7 a.m. that morning. It’s not clear why the suspect came back, and the reason for the fight is still being looked into. The police are collecting more evidence to find out what happened.
A special police unit, supported by other Brussels police, carried out a strong operation. They caught the suspect around 9 a.m., and a helicopter was also involved, but no one was injured. According to the Brussels South police, early discoveries suggest that this incident is not linked to the recent shootings near the Aumale metro station, even though both are related to drugs.
