Brussels Government formation: PS joins talks with MR Les Engagés

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): The Brussels government is getting better as the French-speaking socialist party PS agreed to talk with the election winners MR and Les Engagés. They are discussing how to make life better and bring people together in Brussels.

 Brussels government is close to forming because the French-speaking socialist party PS agreed to talk with the winners MR and Les Engages and also with some Dutch-speaking partners. This happened after some secret talks that went on for weeks. After PS lost to French-speaking parties on the right they said they won’t join any governments. They want to be in the opposition. This is a big change in the French-speaking political scene usually led by socialists. At the end of June PS asked David Leisterh from MR for detailed plan on economic, social and climate issues. PS later agreed to join government talks with MR and Les Engages. MR mentioned that Leisterh’s ideas make a good plan for the problems in Brussels. They want to improve living conditions offer affordable housing, create better jobs, support public services and strengthen social unity. They also have to balance the budget without reducing expenses.

What are the latest developments in Brussels government negotiations

 IT has been reported that PS asked Ahmed Laaouej the leader in Brussels to defend what socialists want.Leister said they’re starting to make a new Brussels Government with the main French-speaking parties. They’re talking and working together to decide how Brussels will be run. The main parties are MR, PS and Les Engagés. Leister is writing important papers to help the parties in Brussels talk and agree on things. These papers will show what they agree on their ideas and where they can work together. It’s like a plan to make sure everyone understands each other during the discussions.

 The parties will check these papers and talk about them to make them right.It has been said that they agreed on these papers to build a good Brussels Government and start working on their plans together.Leister talks a lot with Elk Van den Brandt from Groen. She leads the tough talks among the Dutch-speaking parties. Her job is very important as she manages the tricky discussions and team-building on the Dutch-speaking side of Brussels politics. Leister working with her they are working together to connect the French-speaking and Dutch-speaking groups. Leister told Van den Brandt that he’s ready to help. They want to work together to make the talks go well and help both language groups agree. Leister and Van den Brandt aim to get everyone talking and agreeing faster.Leister wants French and Dutch groups to talk nicely to make a good Brussels Government.They said that helping each other and talking openly can make forming the government successful.
