Hitting the right notes… that’s Brussels’ Cathedral summer series

The 14th organ festival, organized by “Ars in Cathedrali” at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels, is set to woo audiences in the city this summer.

The event this year revolves around the theme “Music Transcends Our Horizons.”

Every Tuesday evening at 8pm from July 28 to September 1 an internationally renowned organist from Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, or Belgium will present an exclusive programme.

The concerts will be performed on the majestic Grenzing organ, mounted in the nave of the cathedral in a swallow’s nest position—an ideal location from an acoustic standpoint.

An event spokesperson told this site that a giant screen will allow the audience to admire the organists’ performance from the console, which is located high above.
