Antwerp (The Brussels Morning Newspaper) October 16, 2026 – Boluda Towage has officially opened its new Belgian headquarters at Noorderplaats in Antwerp, introducing modernized office infrastructure alongside a dedicated tugboat simulator designed to train captains and crew members. The strategic facility enhancement strengthens the group’s operational footprint across key Northern European shipping corridors. Attendees at the official inauguration ceremony included representatives from port authorities, commercial clients, corporate staff, and industry business partners.

Maritime towing specialist Boluda Towage has inaugurated its new official offices at Noorderplaats in Antwerp, marking a significant milestone in the company’s operational expansion across Belgium and the broader North Sea region.

The newly established facility features modern administrative work spaces and incorporates an advanced training simulator dedicated to tug captains and vessel crews. The technology is aimed at enhancing operational safety standards, practical crew readiness, and specialized maneuvering expertise within complex port surroundings.

The official opening ceremony gathered representatives from local and regional port authorities, key commercial customers, company executives, corporate personnel, and regional supply chain partners. The event highlighted the firm’s long-standing connection to the Belgian maritime landscape. While Boluda Towage has operated under its current corporate identity in Antwerp since 2019, the underlying Belgian maritime operations trace their historical roots back to 1870.

Strategic alignment with Northern European network

The inauguration in Antwerp directly follows the opening of Boluda Towage’s regional Northern European headquarters in Rotterdam in July 2026. Together, the facilities in Antwerp and Rotterdam constitute core pillars of the maritime group’s broader strategy to consolidate its European service network, enhance local maritime expertise, and support growing vessel traffic across major deep-water ports.

Boluda Towage forms part of Boluda Corporación Marítima, a global maritime business operating a international fleet of over 850 vessels across 232 ports worldwide. The company’s expansion strategy in Northern Europe began in earnest in 2017, growing to encompass tug and salvage operations across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Norway.
