Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Kurt Bogaerts leaves Ines Grenadiers to join Tom Pidcock at Q36.5 Pro Cycling for a successful 2025 season.

Tom Pidcock participated in a media event for Q36.5 on January 13, 2025. He talked about his coach, Kurt Bogaerts. Pidcock said Bogaerts is very important for his cycling career. Pidcock is 24 years old. He is already an Olympic mountain bike champion. He credits much of his success to Bogaerts, who is 47 years old.

Pidcock said,

“Bogaerts understands me well as both an athlete and a person. This understanding helps him give me advice that fits my needs and has influenced every part of my career. He has helped me improve my performance and stay calm under pressure.”

What impact does Kurt Bogarts have on Tom Pidcock’s cycling career at Q36.5?

According to Pidcock, Bogaerts keeps him grounded as he rises in the cycling world. Despite all the awards and pressure, Bogaerts is a steady presence for him. Pidcock relies on Bogaerts to help him keep perspective.

Pidcock said,

“Bogaerts is the person he turns to when he faces tough choices or feels uncertain. Pidcock believes that Bogaerts’ calm guidance helps him handle the physical demands of cycling and the mental challenges of being a top athlete.”

Kurt Bogaerts, the coach of cyclist Tom Pidcock, recently shared his thoughts on joining Q36.5. He said the decision was not easy. Bogaerts has also worked with French champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot at Ineos Grenadiers. She is known for her skills in different cycling types. She will now join Team Jumbo-Visma. Bogaerts discussed the chance to continue working with her but chose to stay with Pidcock instead. Bogaerts believes they still have much to achieve together in the cycling world.

What are Tom Pidcock’s goals for 2025 under coach Kurt Bogaerts with Q36.5?

Kurt Bogaerts helped Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot win the Olympic mountain bike title in 2024. Now, he wants to change Pidcock’s focus. In 2025, Pidcock will mainly race on the road. He will not do much mountain biking or cyclocross.

Pidcock has chosen not to compete at most of the cyclocross races and he will only focus on a number of mountain bike racing events. He expects to know his capability in this road racing. He also wants to see how close he can get to the best riders. Bogaerts believes that 2025 is a chance for Pidcock to check his progress and push his limits. He hopes Pidcock can get better and compete with the top road cyclists.

Bogaerts has big plans for Tom Pidcock. He wants Pidcock to race in grand tours and do well. The goal is to finish strong in famous races like the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. But for now, Pidcock is focused on winning a Monument race.
