Antwerp (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): The community center on Ernest Classtraat seeks witnesses for a recent incident. Meanwhile, rising vandalism with air guns targeting public transport has prompted police to enhance security and request public vigilance.

In the Europapark area, specifically on Ernest Classtraat, an incident has occurred that has led the community center to ask for witnesses. They are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to the event to come forward.

What measures are being taken to address Vandalism in Antwerp?

In recent months, there has been a troubling increase in incidents involving vandals using air guns to target public property. Several buses operated by De Lijn, the public transport company have been shot at in these attacks causing damage and posing risks to both passengers and drivers. The police have been actively investigating these incidents but have found it challenging to identify and apprehend those responsible. One of the main challenges in the investigation is that it seems the vandalism is not being carried out by just one group of troublemakers. Instead, multiple individuals or groups appear to be involved acting independently or in small, unrelated factions. This fragmentation makes it harder for the authorities to track patterns and gather enough evidence to identify the perpetrators.

Despite these challenges, the police are continuing their efforts to stop these acts of vandalism. They are asking the public to report any suspicious activities that might be related to the incidents. The safety of public transport users is a top priority and steps are being taken to improve surveillance and security measures on buses and in areas where these attacks have happened.
