Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The Brussels Coffee Show returns for its 2nd edition at Gare Maritime in Brussels, featuring Belgian coffee roasters, baristas, and tasting sessions focused on speciality coffee.
As VRT News reported, the Brussels Coffee Show returned for its 2nd edition at Gare Maritime in Tour & Taxis. The event brings together top coffee roasters, importers, and baristas from across Belgium. Visitors can attend workshops, tastings, and demonstrations throughout the weekend.
Spokesperson Céline van Overdik said the focus is on speciality coffee, which makes up only 1% of the global market but is known for its high quality.
“You pay one entrance fee and can drink as much coffee as you like anywhere,”
she explained.
What makes the Brussels Coffee Show a key event for speciality coffee?
Steffen, a coffee roaster from Wink in Schaerbeek, also takes part in the event. He runs a roastery in Laken and presents his freshly roasted beans at the show.
“In the Roasters Village, people can taste our coffees and learn more about the care and quality behind each bean. Many people don’t realise that coffee has such a wide range of flavours,”
he says.
“We roast lightly, so the natural flavours of the bean and the terroir truly shine.”
At the Brussels Coffee Show, Wouter Streetman is presenting his handmade Streetman Espresso Machines.
“The machines are based on old Italian techniques from the 1950s, a conscious countermovement to today’s fully automatic coffee machines.”
Pieter Klaas from Madmum Koffiebranderij in Leuven is also at the Brussels Coffee Show. His roastery is known for high-quality beans and careful roasting methods that bring out rich flavours. The Brussels Coffee Show takes place all weekend at Gare Maritime, the former freight station at Tour & Taxis in Brussels.
“Madmum wants to be part of the Belgian coffee scene and is even considering expanding to Brussels. At the show, visitors can sample espressos and filter coffees and discover the differences between roasters. We also meet our fellow roasters here. We don’t really see them as competitors, but as partners in bringing quality coffee to more people,”
Pieter Klaas said.
The 1st edition of the Brussels Coffee Show took place in October 2024 at Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis in Brussels. The event welcomed almost 3,918 visitors and featured multiple Belgian coffee roasters.
Following a successful 1st edition, the organisers decided to hold a 2nd edition from the 7th to the 9th of November 2025, also at Gare Maritime. The total number of visitors for this edition is larger than before, with around 6,500 expected, including 1,500 professionals.
