Gaza (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – According to Gaza’s civil defense agency, Israeli defense forces’ airstrikes on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least 27 Palestinians, including six near a water distribution area.

Most of Gaza’s over two million residents have been displaced at least once during the war, leading to severe humanitarian crises in the area. The latest attacks hit several sites: a residential tower near Nuseirat refugee center, a drinking water distribution point in a displacement site west of Nuseirat camp, and a momentary shelter for displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi coastal region.

How are displaced Palestinians affected by recent attacks?

Bassal reported that an Israeli air strike targeted a family residence around the Nuseirat refugee camp, south of Gaza City, causing “10 martyrs and several injured. In central Gaza, a drone attack on a potable water distribution point in Nuseirat camp killed eight people, including six children, he also said. Several other people were injured, he stated.

How many civilians died in the previous attack?

The air strikes and shelling across Gaza on July 12, 2025, by Israeli air and artillery forces resulted in at least 110 dead Palestinians. It was also wounded from various towns and cities, including Rafah, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis. Among the deceased were 34 people waiting for food at a food distribution site. The procedure is currently run by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Rafah.

What caused the collapse of the Doha ceasefire talks?

The episodes occurred during a period of deadlock in a week of indirect discussions in Qatar between Israel and Hamas, focused on reaching a ceasefire in the region. After a week of indirect negotiations in Doha, Qatar, Israel and Hamas appear to have reached an impasse, with both sides placing blame on the other for failing to make progress towards a cease-fire in Gaza.

The negotiations, being mediated by Qatar and Egypt with the participation of the United States, sought to put in place a 60-day truce and the phased release of hostages, but differing fundamental views have obstructed any success.
