Pepingen (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A pregnant cow was rescued by the fire brigade in Pepingen after falling into a swimming pool, prompting an unusual animal emergency response this afternoon.

Together with another cow, the pregnant cow had escaped from a pasture. The neighbor’s enormous swimming pool was where the cow was having trouble.

Jozefien, the cow, was successfully dragged out of the pool by the fire department.

In the Pajottenland, it was not a routine task for the fire department. Rescuing a cow that had cooled off in a swimming pool at a Pepingen residence, Belgium. The assistance of a telehandler made this possible.

This vehicle can lift and move huge things because of its extending arm. This instance involves a 700-kg pregnant cow. After being harnessed, the cow was hoisted out of the swimming pool.

“Our Guido is in his last hours before he retires, which seems like a nice tribute to us,”

the fire department says.

What measures are in place to prevent similar incidents with farm animals?

To keep animals from straying into hazardous locations, farms should have safe fences and barriers surrounding features like ponds, swimming pools, and steep waterfalls.

Frequent risk evaluations enable prompt mitigation by identifying possible agricultural hazards, such as locations where animals may become entangled or hurt.

Using suitable livestock handling equipment, such as strong gates, chutes, and pens, lowers the chance of accidents or escapes and aids in properly controlling animal movement.

Frequent animal monitoring helps identify and stop dangerous behavior and roaming into dangerous areas, especially in fragile animals like pregnant cows.
