Missing Belgian man Gauthier Gobert was found after five days

Belgian (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Gauthier Gobert, 25, from Boussu, Belgium, went missing on November 31. His car was found near a football field. He returned five days later, confused and injured. Police are investigating.

A 25-year-old man named Gauthier Gobert from Boussu went missing on Sunday afternoon, November 31, after leaving home at about 2:30. His family reported him missing after attempted contact with him, allowing the authorities to issue a search notice. Gobert has been asked to get in touch to confirm that he was alive, but there was no such communication. His car was found near Wasmes, a football field.

What happened to Gauthier Gobert?

Gauthier Gobert was found around 8:00 PM on December 5, almost fifteen kilometers from his home, in Fresnes-sur-Escaut, where he knocked on the door and asked for help seemed rather confused, and could not recall what happened during that time. He said he woke up in a bush and was found partly tied up with barbed wire and rope around his upper body, but his hands and feet were free.

He went to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and has been questioned by the police, but he still cannot remember anything from when he was missing. The family is worried about what happened, and an investigation is under way.
