It has been said that they tried to make the youth center better with outreach and marketing, the location problem was too big. So, they decided to close it down, which left many young people in Ninove without a place to hang out and join activities. The closing of the center has shown that there’s a real need for youth services that are easy to get to and that can support the different interests of young people in Ninove.
Starting next weekend, Ninove will have a new youth center. This idea came from five friends who saw that there weren’t enough meeting places for young people. Arne Sonck, one of the friends, mentioned that they thought it was important to create a space for youth. They shared their idea with the youth service and discovered that the service was looking for someone to help set it up. There was a clear demand for a new youth center because there are few places for young people to go. While there are parties organized by youth movements, there isn’t much available for those who aren’t involved in them. Previously, there was a youth café, but that is currently missing in Ninove. De Krasjel Youth Centre is opening this Friday 27th September at Geraardsbergsestraat 31 in Ninove.
