Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): In order to remember the victims of the Holocaust five Stolpersteine located in Brussels will be moved to the city museum including stones in memory of Herschel Grynszpan and resistance fighters Eugene and Léonie Toussaint-Bellon.

They are high heels that will never go out of style a fashion landmark bringing you great comfort and amazing beauty to boot. Ten centimeters wide and high stumbling stones are small erection projects that create a surprising chain reaction  bringing on the individual strength and earthen texture at intervals. It pecks deep into this small individual copper plate attached at the top face of all of these stones and on it is coded their names birthdates deportation dates as well when possible the locations that they lived at before dying.

Created by an artist in Berlin Gunter Demnig installed them on the pavement outside the former residence of each person killed during World War II. Their design is such that anyone walking along them cannot help but stop and ponder the past events of whoever used to take this route. Beyond Belgium there are monuments to those murdered by the Nazis in thousands of cities around the world where they were found.

What are the recent changes to Stolpersteine in Brussels?

Five of the 180 Stolpersteine in Brussels will now be moved from the tarmac where they currently stand beside the footpath in front of people’s houses and shops to showrooms at town hall instead. The city of Brussels has recently bought a stone from the Association for Remembering the Shoah which is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving the memory of the Holocaust. Stone Federation bought one at their request as a sign of friendship toward them thus combating feeling guilty or afraid about what many Belgians had done during those years and protecting all people from collective guilt Also on this occasion Gunter Demnig and the association each decided together to donate two more stones for townhall display.

In the very center of the museum stands a rock slab with a quote about Herschel Grynszpan  someone who at the youthful age of seventeen shot dead a Nazi Ernst vom Rath on November 7 1938.On that very day Goebbels the German propaganda minister spoke glossily over radios about passionate hatred. Night has now replaced day with jews glass Kristal. The specific phases it went through as well as the different European Jewish families that were forced out of Europe by Hitler’s Germany depicted in this museum are some of the things that are looked at during visitation of this museum.Inside the museum we come across tombstones belonging to Eugène and Léonie Toussaint-Bellon who were themselves resistance fighters in Brussels.A gravestone from Berek and Pesa Suwiatlowski’s grave can also be seen at Auschwitz-Birkenau within its premises after they had been previously detained in Dossin barracks during 1942.
