How Can Young People Apply for the Blue Book Programme?
The European Commission presents the Blue Book programme, a 5-month paid traineeship open to all EU residents with a limited number of places also issued to non-EU nationals. Trainees gain hands-on knowledge in various areas of EU policy-making, human resources, translation, and other areas, contributing to tasks that shape the future of Europe. Applications for traineeships commencing in March 2025 are open until 31 August at 10:00 (CEST). Applicants must hold a university degree and proficiency in 2 or 3 EU languages, relying on the type of traineeship. The application process applies completing an online form and supplying supporting documents through the Commission’s official portal.

It concentrates on helping the wider community and encouraging solidarity across Europe and beyond. Via volunteering and solidarity projects, participants can engage in tasks related to humanitarian aid, social inclusion, environment, culture, education and others. ESC placements can last from 2 months to a year and wrap basic costs such as housing and food, along with a small allowance for personal expenses.
