Antwerp (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A young woman now 27 filed a complaint against Eddy Snelders for inappropriate behavior when she was 16. Snelders faces charges related to child abuse images and has admitted to inappropriate actions.
A young woman who was 16 at the time talked to investigators and filed a complaint as a victim. Now she’s 27 and is the daughter of Bé De Meyer a TV star. De Meyer was in a long relationship with Eddy Snelders for 16 years. De Meyer and Snelders got married in September 2022 but later got divorced. The complicated personal story between them and the legal thing linked to the young woman’s statements and complaint.

The situation with De Meyer’s 16-year-old daughter happened when Snelders, who was teaching her to ride a quad bike at his chalet in the Ardennes reportedly acted inappropriately. While they were on the quad bike with her in front and him at the back he allegedly touched her buttocks. When she moved his hand away he kept putting it back and even touched her between her legs. The news about Snelders’ actions was first reported by Het Laatste Nieuws and later confirmed by other sources. Also, Belga news agency mentioned that the public prosecutor’s office plans to charge Snelders for having images related to child abuse.
Snelders has been talking to the police a lot since December 2023. A neighbor complained that he was doing inappropriate things in front of his window. The police searched his house in Brasschaat and took his phone and computers. Snelders admitted to doing inappropriate things and secretly recording people. Detectives found videos of people he recorded without their knowledge in different places. About twenty people were identified and questioned about this.
Snelders’ lawyer Sanne De Clerk mentioned that they will argue against the accusations of assault since there is no solid proof,just statements in the case file. Snelders himself denies knowledge of any child abuse images stating they might have been unintentionally downloaded while looking for legal adult content. The investigation indicates that Snelders does not have a preference for minors.
