As reported by  VRT News, the man from Bruges was caught with a lot of illegal drugs in Mechelen. He had 315 grams of cannabis, 150 grams of hashish, and many ecstasy pills. He planned to sell them for 3,900 euros.

Did a Bruges man’s drug deal in Mechelen lead to his arrest and 12-month probation?

The man agreed he was guilty and admitted he still used cannabis, but wanted to stop. The court gave him a 12-month prison sentence, but it was put on hold if he followed certain rules. He had to pay an 8,000 euro fine and get help for his drug use. He was also not allowed to drink alcohol. He had to take regular drug tests and manage his money better.

A man from Bruges, struggling financially after a divorce, turned to selling drugs. He hoped it would quickly solve his money problems. He planned to buy a lot of drugs and sell them for a profit. He used Telegram to find a buyer in Mechelen. But it was a setup.

When he arrived in Mechelen, 2 armed men ambushed him, wanting to steal the drugs. The man panicked and ran when they tried to rob him at gunpoint. One of the attackers shot him, and he fell nearby.

The police arrived because of the gunshots and found the injured man. The police couldn’t find his phone, which had important information like chats and contacts. The police wondered about his other crimes.
