Kemmel (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Camping Ypra, now UCamp Kemmelberg, is undergoing renovations under Parcifal Coeman and Urban Gardens, including a new entrance, restaurant, and motorhome facilities. The campground’s 74-year-old owner will assist during the transition.

Camping Ypra, a popular campground in Kemmelberg, municipality of Heuvelland, West Flanders, Belgium, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with some big changes. The campground will be getting a makeover under the leadership of Parcifal Coeman, the CEO of Urban Gardens.

Coeman mentioned that he wants to keep the campground’s charm while adding modern comforts. Some small changes will happen soon, but bigger changes will start in the fall. These changes include a new entrance, a restaurant with a brasserie, and new rental accommodations for people.

“The location is very beautiful, and we have quite big plans here,”

Says Parcifal Coeman.

How will UCamp Kemmelberg’s renovation transform camping Ypra?

Camping Ypra is getting a new name and some new features. The campground will be called UCamp Kemmelberg and will have a self-service area for motorhome travelers. They can check in digitall. Officials mentioned that the goal is to offer a new experience while still keeping the things people love about Camping Ypra, like its connection to nature, its peaceful atmosphere, and its long history.

Urban Gardens, a company run by Parcifal Coeman, has bought 2 campgrounds: Camping Ypra in Kemmelberg and Urban Gardens Ypres. They’re making big changes to both places. Urban Gardens Ypres is almost finished with its upgrades, which include new tents for glamping. They’re also fixing up the main building to make it better for campers.

The current owner of Camping Ypra, who is 74 years old, will help out with the transition to new ownership. His daughter-in-law will take over running the campground. Marc Coucke, the investor who helped buy the campground, won’t visit right away, but the new owner, Parcifal Coeman, says Coucke will be invited to stay at the campground with his family after it’s renovated.

“Marc Coucke himself is not expected at the campsite at the Kemmelberg right away, no. We will first renovate, and then I will certainly invite him to come here on holiday with his family,”

Coeman said.
