There will also be a workout area outside for people who like to exercise using their body weight all in a natural setting. Alongside these, there will be spots to relax and enjoy nature making the park a fun place for everyone with different interests to enjoy being outdoors and spending time together.

What Upgrades are Planned for Swimming Pool Park?

The park is getting even good with a play forest where kids can play in nature with logs, ropes and other natural stuff. It’s meant to be a safe and fun place for kids to explore and play helping them feel closer to the outdoors. They’re adding a wooden platform over a pond in the park for people to enjoy the view and relax. They’re planting an orchard at the park’s entrance with an outdoor classroom for learning about fruits. It will have picnic benches and hammocks for a peaceful place to relax, learn and have community gatherings.

Alderman Matthias De Ridder wants to make Swimming Pool Park a fun place for people of all ages and abilities to exercise and play sports. They’re adding nature stuff and exercise areas like new paths, playground, and workout spots. The aim is to make the park a friendly place where everyone can have fun doing sports and staying fit while enjoying nature.

Alderman Katrien Beulens is working with different groups to make the park fun and educational. It’s all about bringing people together caring for the environment and promoting active and educational experiences in the park.

The Aquatopia swimming pool complex opened in two parts first in October 2021 and then officially in December 2022 with a special event in honor of the former mayor Ilse Uttersprot. People can swim in both a 50 and 25-meter pool and there are fun slides for kids. It was a hit during the 2023 Christmas holidays. Now they’re upgrading the park around the swimming pool complex.
