Bruges (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Simon Mignolet (37) left Club Brugge’s match vs. AA Gent with a knee injury after colliding with teammate Jashari. Backup Jackers replaced him. Scan results on Monday will decide Thursday’s availability vs. the Union.

Club Brugge’s 37-year-old goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet, had to be replaced on the field during a match against AA Gent on Sunday, April 21, 2025. The match was being played at the Planet Group Arena. Mignolet was injured when he knocked into his teammate, Jashari, and hit his knee.

The Club Brugge staff decided to take him out of the game as a precaution. Coach Nicky Hayen quickly put in Nordin Jackers, the backup goalkeeper, to take Mignolet’s place. Mignolet was able to walk off the field on his own.

Will Mignolet and Nilsson be available for Club Brugge’s match?

Simon Mignolet indicated he believes his injured knee is not that bad following the game. Club Brugge will gain more insight into his injury upon receiving a scan on Monday, April 21, 2025. They want to ascertain whether he is ready to play their match with Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Right before the game started, Club Brugge had another player get injured. Striker Gustaf Nilsson had to stop warming up because his calf was hurting. They want to know if he will be ready to play the big game against Union on Thursday.
