Halle (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A 46-year-old man was shot twice in the leg while sitting in his car in Lembeek. The suspected 39-year-old shooter is in custody and the police are investigating a possible personal dispute as the motive.

There was a shooting at a furniture store’s parking lot on Bergensesteenweg in Lembeek. A 46-year-old man sitting in his car got shot twice in the leg. Sabine Lievens from the Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office mentioned that they’re not sure why it happened so the police are looking into what happened. The man who got shot was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment. Even though he was shot twice his injuries are not life-threatening and he should get better. The police have made sure the area is safe and are trying to find clues and figure out who might have been behind the shooting. People in the area are anxious and waiting for more news from the police.

What led to the shooting in Lembeek near Halle parking lot?

The investigators sent a forensic expert and a ballistics specialist to the place of the shooting. They think the person who did it probably shot through the car window when the man was inside his car. The forensic team is carefully looking at all the details of the shooting to figure out exactly what happened. The person they think did the shooting a 39-year-old man ran away at first but then surrendered to the police. They have him in custody while they keep looking into what happened. The police are still figuring out why the attack took place and are collecting evidence to understand the situation better.

Sabine Lievens mentioned that even though they don’t have all the details yet it seems that a personal issue between the two men might have caused the shooting. This means it wasn’t a random act but more like a planned attack related to their personal problems. Based on what they found the prosecutor’s office will ask for a serious investigation into attempted murder. They’re going to make this request tomorrow to dig deeper into the case and make sure the person they suspect is responsible faces consequences. The investigation will try to find out more about the argument between the two men and what happened before the shooting.
