Record-breaking heatwave sweeps Belgium on August 12, 2024

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): On August 12, 2024 Beitem had a temperature of 34.3°C while Uccle had 33.6°C and it even became the hottest August 12 ever recorded in Belgium.

On August 12, 2024 it had actually become hot in Uccle Brussels. It recorded 33.6°C which is just slightly above the old record of 33.5°C all the way back in 2003.

What caused Belgium’s record-breaking heatwave on August 12, 2024?

On August 12, 2024 it was awfully hot in Belgium. In Beitem, Western Manders readings went as high as 34.3°C the highest IRM reading that day. The heat wave was pretty much at its best in the region. It was extremely hot in Belgium on August 12, 2024. The temperature recorded a high of 34.3°C not just in Beitem but also in Gosselies and Beauvechain. This generalized high temperature indicated that the heat wave was scorching several places in Belgium simultaneously.

The following year on the twelfth day of the month of August in the year two thousand and twenty-four Belgium was sweltering hot as an oven. It was recorded that Diepenbeck attained a temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius , Middelkerke and Zaventem each had 34.1°C and Kleine Brogel reached 34°C. The meteorologist David Dehenauw also confirmed that it was extremely hot all around . The blazing sun made it unbearable for all corners of the country.
