Brussels Police investigate suspected bike thief with drugs found

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): In the possession of a stolen bicycle and cannabis he was arrested in Brussels. His house was searched by police who found seven more stolen bicycles and also drugs.  The investigation is today. He was  released on bail while awaiting further consultations.

The Police in Brussels had come across a man familiar to them as a bicycle thief riding a high-end bike. As he failed to produce any documents for the bicycle when they requested one he raised suspicion in them about whether the bicycle belonged to him or not.  Things turned even worse. They discovered cannabis in the pocket of this man besides the case of the bicycle. Now the public prosecutors office is working on the case which could spell more trouble for the man.

What evidence did Police find in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek investigation?

In Sint-Jans-Molenbeek the man’s residence was searched and the police discovered seven additional bicycles. The origin could not be traced for any of them. Some of them bore famous brands and others were dismantled. A stolen grinding wheel and several bicycle locks were found at his residence some of them having been forced open. This may indicate that he was involved in mischief related to property theft. Things found from his house provide more leads to the case.

While searching for a suspect at his home in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek police found not just seven more bike butal  so a  big stash of narcotics. They confiscated almost one kg of hashish and a lesser bag with some  powdr that  is cocaine . These drugs plus the cycles among other things instigated inquiry in to handling stolen property.Yet with such undeniable proof an investigating magistrate has chosen to free him for now until after the probe is done. The motion would permit further elucidation on what he does or wherever those bicycles came from.
