Poland (Brussels Morning) The Polish Handicrafts Pavilion was showcasing an array of artisanal products, including culinary tools, at the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan), organized by the Heritage Commission. The exhibition, held at the Roshn Front in Riyadh, run until November 30.
Polish artisan Ewa Kasparzyk was presenting a variety of handmade home furnishings and kitchen tools, crafted with exceptional skill. Her creations combine wood and ceramics to produce functional art pieces designed for everyday use. Each item is carefully finished with a coating that preserves its aesthetic appeal without compromising public health.
Ewa shared that she began displaying her products in local markets five years ago. The growing demand for her work, especially when introducing new items alongside her existing collection, has fueled her passion for the craft. She noted a renewed interest in handmade products, largely due to their connection to the country’s cultural heritage.
She emphasized her commitment to sustainability, using ceramic waste from Polish factories. After carefully trimming sharp edges, she skillfully integrates the ceramics with wood to create unique pieces. Her products include household service tables, kitchen cutting boards, plates, and more.
Expressing her delight at being invited to the Banan exhibition, Ewa thanked the Heritage Commission for its support. She previously showcased her work at a similar event in Italy, where her products received significant acclaim.
The Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan) featured over 500 artisans from more than 25 countries. The event included various sections such as the Handicrafts Arts Village, Live Craft Demonstrations Pavilion, Handicraft Exhibition, and Workshops Pavilion. Visitors could also explore interactive experiences, the Entrepreneurs Platform, and a special Kids’ Pavilion offering activities for younger attendees.
