Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg, two of the twentieth century’s greatest physicists, were once close friends working together to unlock the secrets of the atom.
Then the world went to war and they found themselves on opposite sides.
It’s 1941. Heisenberg, now a leading figure in Germany’s atomic research programme, is visiting Nazi-occupied Copenhagen to meet his former mentor, Bohr, and wife, Margrethe.
That fateful evening has sparked one of the greatest mysteries of the Second World War: Why did Heisenberg come?
Directed and designed by Robert Chevara, Michael Frayn’s multi-award-winning “Copenhagen” is a gripping human drama about friendship, duty, and the choices that can change the world.
And now tickets are on sale for a new production by Brussels-based The Bridge Theatre.
This one-of-a-kind, quintessentially European play was hailed as “the most invigorating and ingenious play of ideas” by The New York Times.
Directed and Designed by Robert Chevara, it runs from 15 October to 6 November, Tuesdays – Saturdays at 19:30, Saturdays & Sundays at 14:30.
The venue is La Maison Qui Chante – Rue Du Viaduc 122, 1050 Brussels and tickets are €25 – €45.
For this production seats will not be assigned and the tickets will be priced on a “Pay What You Can” basis, meaning that people get to choose how much you can pay out of three available categories:
- Access – €25: For those who can’t afford to pay the Standard price.
- Standard – €35 : This price reflects the cost of creating this original production.
