Jabbeke (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Police found a hidden cocaine lab in Jabbeke, producing over 60 kilos. Ten suspects (1 Dutch, 9 Colombians) face court as investigators probe links to international traffickers and Limburg’s earlier case.

Police in Jabbeke, in the province of West Flanders, Belgium, found a drug lab on Friday, Aug 1, 2025,  in a farmhouse on Westernieuwweg. The building was far from the road. Officers went inside and saw machines and chemicals for making drugs. They blocked the area to keep people safe.

Who ran the Jabbeke cocaine lab where 60 kilos were made?

The public prosecutor’s office was told right away and is now leading the case. Experts are checking the lab and what was found inside to see what drugs were made and how long the place was in use. Police have not shared the names of suspects or said if anyone was caught. They are looking for the people who set it up.

Officials said the site in Jabbeke was a cocaine lab. There, cocaine paste was changed into powder and pressed into blocks for sale. Investigators think more than 60 kilos of cocaine had already been made and sent out.

Because the work was large and the chemicals were unsafe, civil protection teams went to the farmhouse. They are taking the lab apart and removing dangerous items to make sure the place is safe and there is no risk left for the area.

The public prosecutor’s office said that people tied to the drug lab are now in custody. 6 Of them, one from the Netherlands and 5 from Colombia, will go before the judge on Aug 2, 2025. Another 4 Colombians will appear before the judge on Sunday, Aug 3, 2025.

A case took place last year in the Limburg region, where police found another large cocaine lab hidden in an abandoned warehouse. That site was also linked to international traffickers, and dozens of kilos of cocaine were seized. Several suspects, mainly from the Netherlands and South America, were arrested, and the investigation revealed a well-organised network using rural properties to avoid detection.
