Lommel (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – FC Robinstijn, founded by Pieter van Bussel, fulfils football wishes for children facing hardships in the Netherlands and Belgium. Their first Belgian partner, Lommel SK, aims to create memorable experiences for kids, supported by players like Dries Mertens and Tessa Wullaert.
According to officials, FC Robinstijn helps make football wishes come true for kids who have faced hard times. They work with many clubs in the Netherlands, including teams from the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Divisie. They mentioned that this allows young fans to have special moments with their favourite players. The foundation has also helped kids in Belgium for 15 years.
Founder Pieter van Bussel remembers making dreams come true for Belgian children with teams like the Red Devils and KRC Genk. Famous players Dries Mertens and Tessa Wullaert support the foundation and promote its work.
“Over the past 15 years, we have been able to make some great football wishes of Belgian children come true,” says Pieter van Bussel, founder of the FC Robinstijn Foundation.
How will Lommel SK & FC Robinstin help children?
Lommel SK is now the first official partner club of FC Robinstijn in Belgium. They want to give more kids in Belgium chances to enjoy football. Children will be able to meet their favourite players, attend special matches, and even walk on the field with them.
Pieter van Bussel is excited about this teamwork. He thinks it is important for the foundation and the kids they support. With Lommel SK on board, FC Robinstijn aims to bring joy and hope to children in both the Netherlands and Belgium through football.
“That is why it is very nice that we can now welcome our first Belgian partner club, Lommel SK, and that we will work together to fulfil great football wishes,”
Van Bussel adds
According to Kevin Van Rompay from Lommel SK, both groups want to make the kids’ dreams come true. This project helps all young people who have faced big challenges, not just sick children. He mentioned that the club plans to let them walk onto the pitch with the players in front of a full crowd.
“FC Robenstijn’s vision completely matches ours and we would very much like to do our best together with them to make the wishes of the children come true”,
Says Kevin Van Rompay.
Van Rompay is proud of this project. He believes it will create special memories for the children. Lommel SK wants to help young people by giving them a moment of happiness. They have made it easy for kids to share their football wishes on the foundation’s website.
Officials mentioned that this allows children, their families, or friends to ask to join in. The club hopes to welcome many young fans to enjoy this special experience. By doing this, Lommel SK wants to inspire and lift the spirits of those who need it most.
