Lokeren (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): The Lokeren fire brigade celebrated their move to a new strategically located barracks with a parade improving emergency response times and providing essential training facilities.

On 17th August Lokeren saw a parade of sirens and flashing lights as the local fire brigade went through the city. The purpose of this parade was to celebrate the fire brigade’s move to their new barracks on Haarsnijderslaan. The procession included several fire trucks and emergency vehicles highlighting the importance of the move and showing the scale of the effort involved in setting up the new facility. The event received a lot of support from the community with hundreds of Lokeren residents coming out to cheer for the firefighters. As the convoy moved through the city the streets were filled with people showing their appreciation for the firefighters’ hard work and service. It has been said that this enthusiastic response showed the strong bond between the fire brigade and the local community highlighting the importance of the new barracks in improving the city’s emergency response capabilities.

What advantages does the new fire station in Lokeren provide?

The new fire station located on the edge of Lokeren provides a big advantage for the fire brigade. Before emergency vehicles had to go through the city center to respond to calls which could cause delays because of traffic and congestion. Now, with the move to the outskirts the fire department can send out its vehicles more quickly which significantly reduces response times. According to the fire department this strategic location helps them leave more quickly when responding to emergencies. The new spot makes it easier to reach incident sites which can improve how effectively they respond to emergencies and enhance public safety. This move not only helps the fire brigade work more efficiently but also contributes to faster solutions for emergency situations across the city.

The new fire barracks in Lokeren is designed with several important features to improve how the fire brigade works. The facility includes a special shed for storing essential equipment like materials, vehicles, compressors and generators. This organized storage space makes sure that all the necessary tools and machines are easily available for emergency responses and maintenance. The new building also has a practice tower designed for training. This tower is used by the fire brigade’s climbing team and other units to practice and improve their skills. It provides an important training environment where firefighters can simulate real-life situations and enhance their abilities in climbing and rescue operations which ultimately helps them be better prepared and more effective during emergencies.
