He starts his day at 3 a.m. and works about 85 hours per week. He’s working at his new shop and the market.

Alwin wants to sell high-quality meat to his customers.  Alwin will focus on getting the meat and preparing it.  Jessica will run the shop and help customers. They mentioned that they would sell fresh meat. They might also sell homemade food.

If you sleep with the dog, you get lice,

laughs Jessica.

My great-grandparents were also butchers, I’m picking up where I left off and going for it.

What can customers expect from Keerbergen’s new butcher shop?

Alwin Van Geel and Jessica want their butcher shop to be successful. They mentioned that they are having a special event to celebrate.  They want to get people excited about their new shop. Every customer will get a chipolata sausage that is the same length as they are tall.

 Alwin said,

If you are 1 meter 78 centimetres tall, you will get a sausage that is that long. This will get people’s attention.

According to Alwin, he has big dreams for the future.  He loves food and wants to do more than just be a butcher. He wants to make his butcher shop successful.  He wants people to trust him and like his shop.

 Alwin said,

Maybe I’ll open a steak restaurant someday.

Alwin and his girlfriend Jessica waited to open their shop until the town centre construction was finished.  They wanted to start their business in a fresh and improved setting. Alwin loved to cook as a child. He started cooking when he was only 12 years old.

Alwin wanted to become a chef, but his father suggested he become a butcher instead. His father said there were not enough butchers and that the job was stable and paid well.  Alwin listened to his father and became a butcher.  He worked at market stalls and sold high-quality meat.
