Budapest (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The 23rd European Tourism Forum in Budapest will address tourism challenges like sustainability, climate impact, and labour shortages.
Following two of the most major diplomatic occasions in Hungary’s history, the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Budapest and the informal EU summit, the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union persists with the highest-level tourism events.
How will the European Tourism Forum shape future policies?
The 23rd European Tourism Forum, the highest-level tourism trade occasion of the European Presidency in 2024, will take place on November 13 in Budapest at the Várkert Bazár. The forum will feature presentations and panel arguments addressing critical challenges for the tourism sector, including data-driven sector management, the impacts of climate change on tourism demand, sustainable tourism practices, over-tourism, the function of artificial intelligence, and the Europe-wide labour shortage.
The meeting will be opened by Mr. Márton Nagy, Minister of National Economy, and will assemble key public, industry, and academic actors in European tourism, major policymakers from EU institutions, and representatives from global tourism organizations such as the OECD, UN Tourism, and WTTC.
They will examine possible ways to mitigate the effect of climate change on tourism and also issues of adaptation to the climate problem. As well as sharing professional knowledge, the events will also provide an option to revisit the capital’s renewed tourism offer and cultural heritage with hundreds of high-level international tourism leaders.
