Ninove (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Forza Ninove, led by Guy D’Haeseleer, won 18 of 35 seats in the Ninove elections, achieving 47.4% of the vote. However, the East Flanders Public Prosecutor is investigating possible electoral fraud involving proxy votes, raising concerns among local leaders.

Guy D’Haeseleer and his far-right party Forza Ninove recently won a big victory in the Ninove elections. East Flanders public prosecutor’s office is investigating this win for possible electoral fraud. There are claims that the party may have used proxy votes, especially from older people. D’Haeseleer denies these claims and thinks the timing of the investigation is suspicious because of his party’s success.

Is Forza Ninove’s election victory by Guy D’Haeseleer under threat from fraud allegations?

No formal complaint has been made, but a local party leader is concerned about Forza Ninove’s actions. Even with the investigation, Forza Ninove supporters celebrated, and D’Haeseleer hopes to become the first mayor of Vlaams Belang in Ninove. The results of the investigation could greatly affect the party’s future.

After Forza Ninove’s big election win, Guy D’Haeseleer talked about claims of cheating with proxy voting. He said these claims were just his opponents trying to mess up his party’s success and take away their victory. D’Haeseleer felt upset that his opponents were making trouble with these accusations instead of accepting they lost.

He insisted that no proxy votes were misused and said that Forza Ninove did nothing illegal. He found it suspicious that the investigation started after their big win, but he assured everyone there was “nothing wrong” with how they handled the election. D’Haeseleer thinks the claims are just political attacks trying to question his party’s honesty.
