Genk (The Brussels morning Newspaper): The CARMA police recently arrested a wanted individual and seven drivers for traffic violations including drug offenses, leading to license suspensions and vehicle seizures, demonstrating their dedication to public safety and order.

The CARMA police did some checks recently and found a person who was wanted by the police. They arrested this person and took them to prison. Along with the arrest another person was held for a short time because they were causing trouble in public. This was done to help keep things calm and ensure everyone’s safety during the police checks.

What were the key findings and actions from the CARMA police’s recent traffic enforcement operation?

The CARMA police carried out an operation where seven drivers were caught breaking traffic rules. Four of these drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. Because of this their driving licenses were taken away for 15 days. This is done to keep the roads safer by removing drivers who might be a danger to others. Besides the drug offenses the police also focused on drivers who were distracted while driving. Three people were caught using their phones while driving which can lead to accidents because it takes their attention away from the road. As a result these drivers also had their licenses taken away for 15 days. It has been said that this shows how important it is to stay focused while driving and discourages using phones and other distractions while behind the wheel.

Along with the arrests and license suspensions the CARMA police’s recent checks led to some important actions. They issued 15 reports for people found with drugs showing a strong effort to fight drug-related crimes. They also seized 11 vehicles. Out of these four cars didn’t have insurance and seven had been changed to make their engines more powerful which is against the law and can be unsafe. The operation also found about 60 traffic violations. These included not wearing seat belts or safety gear on motorcycles not having valid inspection or insurance papers driving unregistered vehicles and speeding. Six people received a GAS (General Administrative Sanctions) fine for minor offenses like parking incorrectly, littering and spitting in public. The police are serious about enforcing traffic laws and keeping public order in many ways.
