MEP Dominique Riquet (Parti Radical, France), a key figure in the ASAP resolution, expressed satisfaction with the Parliament’s united stance. Riquet stressed the urgency of engaging in swift negotiations with the Council to ensure the rapid implementation of this measure. This prompt decision sends a strong message to President Putin, showcasing the unwavering commitment of the European Union to supporting Ukraine “no matter what” and strengthening European defense capabilities.

The Renew Europe Group in the European Parliament warmly welcomes the adoption of ASAP and eagerly anticipates a swift agreement with the Council. This act addresses the critical shortage of ammunition, missiles, and their components by boosting the EU’s production capacity. It aligns with the European Union’s ongoing support for Ukraine in its determined stance against Russia’s aggression.
