Anderlecht (Brussels Morning Newspaper): On October 18, a child fell from the second floor in Anderlecht around 6:00 p.m. Emergency services responded quickly, and the child was hospitalized with serious injuries but survived. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the fall.

On Friday, October 18, around 6:00 p.m., an incident happened on Habermanstraat in Anderlecht when a child fell from the second floor of a house. Police from the South zone, which covers Anderlecht, Saint-Gilles, and Forest, quickly arrived. Yasmina Vanoverschelde, a spokesperson for the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, said the police reached there after an ambulance and a special medical team. It has been said that this quick response shows how serious the situation was, as medical staff were already helping the child.

What led to the child’s fall from the second floor in Anderlecht?

When the police reached there, they saw the child’s parents and a witness who had helped the child before the emergency teams arrived.

The baby was taken to the hospital and was very serious but survived. After this incident, the public prosecutor’s office started an investigation, which is normal for these cases. Yasmina Vanoverschelde said the investigation would check how the baby got hurt and if any safety measures were not followed.
